Training & Collaborative conversations

Participants: 60 children plus adult teams including Artists, Teachers, Researchers and Navigators on a 3 year programme.

Purpose: Introduce a culture of inquiry to the project

 

Pioneering Places has grown out of the success of Art inspiring Change.  For the initial stages, my role has been to encourage a culture of inquiry between all the participants. I spent time with the delivery team looking at the philosophical concept of the child, principles of philosophical Inquiry and how to introduce these into conversation with the children. With the children we began looking at what values and behaviour they want to see in their collaborative space. This was important given that the weekly sessions will take place within the school so the collaborative project space will need to be delineated from the school environment.  Working with artists, architects and town planners, this project will enable the children to participate in the regeneration of Ramsgate town harbour, putting 2 public artworks on the Ramsgate map by the end of the project.
