Turner Contemporary, Margate

My residency at this exciting gallery has involved collaborative design of the gallery's learning programme, Hands on Philosophy as part of their We are Curious approach.

I have also been involved with their interpretation strategy to support public engagement with the exhibitions and more recently facilitating events in partnership with exhibiting artists, such as the commission of 3 text-based works by Katie Paterson. Recently we worked with artist Ellen Harvey and an intergenerational group to generate suggestions of lost sites for her to depict in her Disappointed Tourist exhibition coming to the gallery in 2020.

Currently my residency is also connected to the 2019 Turner Prize which is showing at the Turner Contemporary this year. Collaborating on the public engagement aspect of a variety of projects including the Turner Prize lates. This weekend we will be holding conversations across the gallery Please come and join me. Mansions of the Future, Lincoln

My residency here is as Director of fundamental questions.

So far this has involved a 6 week residency in The Priory Pembroke Academy developing philosophical thinking with a group of Year 7 pupils, a series of public dialogues in the house itself and delivering in Collaborative Conversations to a group of practitioners working with young people.

The title Director of fundamental questions comes from certain large German corporations who, understanding the potential power of crafted questions, have appointed a Direktor Grundsatzfragen - Director of fundamental questions. I would love to find out whether their fundamental questions are the same as ours.
